Congratulations to Dr. Dario Winterton and Dr. Federico Puerta Martinez on completing their Education Fellowships. Both were also recognized with departmental teaching awards, highlighting their contributions to education and teaching within the department. Simulation Education Recognized at Shapiro Education Week
Our department was also represented by Jacqueline Hannan at Shapiro Education Week, where a faculty-led simulation education project by Jacqueline was presented as a poster and received an Honorable Mention for Best Simulation Education Project. This recognition highlights the department’s continued commitment to innovation in simulation-based medical education.
Gamification in CA-1 Simulation Training
Noor Dirini recently led a training session and full-day simulation experience for CA-1 residents during Bootcamp Month. The session incorporated gamification as an educational strategy to teach residents about ventilation alarms, providing an interactive approach to learning and responding to important intraoperative scenarios.
Rabkin Award Recognition
Congratulations to Dr. Maria Borrelli on her participation in the Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education. Through seminars, educational scholarship, and project-based learning, fellows strengthen their skills in teaching, education research, leadership, and creating meaningful educational change. The program also brings together a community educators committed to advancing medical education.
