Journal’s Aims and Scopes:

Clinics in Medical Education is an open-access, interactive, and multidisciplinary journal committed to advancing innovation in medical education across all specialties. We welcome submissions that inspire dialogue, creativity, and meaningful change in educational practice. Our focus spans education, technology, artificial intelligence, and their integration into clinical care and teaching.

We invite contributions from all specialties, especially those highlighting novel approaches and the use of technology in education. There are no submission or subscription fees, ensuring broad accessibility and global reach. Our editorial board is dedicated to curating impactful content for educators, clinicians, and learners.

This journal is the official publication of the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.

General Submission Guidelines:

New submissions should be emailed to our editor Huma Hussain, MD at hhussain@bidmc.harvard.edu.

  • Manuscript Format: Submit your manuscript as an editable Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx), using 12-point Times New Roman font and single spacing. The file may include embedded text, figures, tables, and videos, or these may be uploaded as separate files. Please see below for additional details on formatting for figures, tables, and other attachments.
  • Title Page: Upload a separate title page that includes the type of submission, manuscript title, full names of all authors, their affiliations, and contact information for the corresponding author.
  • Anonymization: As we follow a double-anonymized peer review process, please ensure that the main manuscript is anonymized, with no identifying author or institutional information.
  • Figures, Tables and Videos: Include descriptive legends for all figures, tables and videos. Figures and videos should be submitted in the highest resolution available (preferably JPEG, PNG, MP4). Ensure that all multimedia files are accompanied by brief descriptions or transcripts when appropriate. Hand drawn figures must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
  • References: References need to be AMA. Please maintain consistency throughout the manuscript.
  • Professional Headshot: Submit a high-resolution professional headshot (JPEG or PNG format) with your title page.
  • Peer Review Requirement: To cultivate high quality material while remaining free and open-access, we request that all submissions designate at least one author to peer review a submission to the journal. We thank you for your support.
